AuSABLE FORKS – A tropical storm and historic flooding didn’t derail the Jay Town Council’s mission to present a budget that met the state’s 2 percent property tax cap.
Town Supervisor Randy Douglas said Thursday the tax levy is projected to increase by 1.9 percent next year. The amount to be raised by taxes is $1,631,640 – an increase of $30,747 over 2011.
