Congratulations to Alicia DeShasier of Carrollton. I’ve been trying to find out how she’s been doing. It’s nice to see that she’s finally getting some notoriety. I knew she was one hell of an athlete. way to go Alicia, we’re all proud of you. Everyone in the county is proud of you. here we go again, the legislators of Illinois are trying to find different ways to tax people instead of cutting the spending and reforming the pension system. if the state taxes me out of my soda I’m just going to go right back to crack. I can’t believe that a church is going to openly discriminate against people over the age of 40. I will never darken their doorstep again. This is The Angry Taxpayer. when Bush left office we were spending $40 billion a year on the food stamp program. now, under Obama, we’re spending $80 billion a year on the food stamp program. we have to cut these welfare programs immediately. Presidential candidate Cain has been accused of sexual harassment, we know it’s true because they have paid out settlements to these women. yet, he continues to rack in a lot of money and support from the Republican Party. How can this be when the Republican is suppose to be so godly? How can they support someone who has sexually harassed women? I am nearly 80 years old so I’ve seen many presidential elections. It is sad to say this is the most corrupt administration I’ve ever seen. they have destroyed the constitution, our economy, lied to us and ruined our health care and on and on. This administration simply can not be trusted. we can not afford another four years of President Obama and his administration. The same people who didn’t care that Clinton was a perjuring pervert are condemning Cain for something that may have happened 19 years ago. Plus, a retired military master sergeant who wants the state to reduce the vehicle registration fee should be quiet and be glad that Illinois is one of the few states that does not tax our military retirement. I agree with the person about the Christmas music being played early in Lincoln Square. After Thanksgiving would be the proper thing to do. then again, it is Lincoln Square Shopping Center, who really goes out there? It’s getting easier and easier to see how Republicans really feel about women. The state of Illinois stinks. It is the most corrupt, un-American state I believe we have. if it’s not, then it’s pretty close and at least second or third. This is the most corrupt nonsense that we have to put up with and it is clear that nothing is being done to protect the people of the state. as a former bus driver, it is not rocket science that the A-C kids must be brats, as there would not be a complaint as your eyes are on the road. maybe the ones who are complaining need to ride the bus for free take turns. you will be shocked. It is very apparent that you can win awards at cheer camp and still not know how to lead a crowd at a football game after watching the Beardstown cheerleaders the past two weeks. they do more standing and talking than cheering and the crowd has to start cheers. where is their coach or do they not have one? Was any thought given to the idea of consolidating some of the buildings at JDC instead of keeping all of them in operation?  For 200-plus patients, I don’t see it is necessary to use every building out there. that would save the jobs, as well as giving those people a place to live and still cut down a lot of unnecessary expense. Hey moron, cops, firemen and teachers all work for the government. that said, Obama did nothing to increase any of those jobs. To the people commenting in the Open Line that its the kids and they don’t like the discipline. I went to the school and I requested my child’s records and he has not been in trouble on the bus with this driver but this driver has picked on my son. Banks, large corporations and politicians who are all corrupt, greedy, and rich controlling your lives. now do you still think badly of them? unless your also super rich the banks, large corporations and politicians simply do not care about you. I guess the decade-old rule of no Gatorade/soda in our gym is why our floor looks so nice (and yours looks … well). we assumed that you could read the multiple large signs indicating no Gatorade/soda. So, you either can’t read or I guess being from Waverly makes you exempt from the rules.  How dare we make rules to protect our gym floor, next time we will check with you on how we should operate our building. Unemployment in October unexpectedly plummets from 9.1 to 9 percent. Obama hasn’t created any road construction, teaching or public safety jobs. they already existed. he simply subsidized jobs that wouldn’t have been in jeopardy if it wasn’t for the union pension Ponzi scheme. they will be back for more handouts next year. The world is neither a positive nor a negative place but both. I choose to live in reality. So go ahead and take your happy meds the physican and government prescribed for you to dumb you down. It’s OK to be real and you should be angry, very angry about how our country is being led down the pike. I have lost faith in the state, the country, and our leadership.  Look for a mass migration to our neighbors to the north and south. Time to cut our losses. We’re suppose to get smarter as we get older, but that sure doesn’t work when it comes to political people. I just saw on the news where they are wanting state employees take a two-year wage freeze, what about all the senators and representatives? what about all the jobs Quinn is putting out. Shouldn’t there be a freeze on some of the things they are doing? what about all the plane rides Quinn’s taking from Chicago to Springfield? why not freeze him in Springfield, where he ought to be, in the mansion? I think it’s time for the big shots to take freezes as well, it should have happened a long time ago. well, Jefferson School was in too bad of shape to be “safe” for a school, but will work just dandy for offices, shops and apartments. anyone in a “superintendent” position should be fired, they’re not needed anyway. anyone else remember when bill Cellini was IC’s “Young Alum of the Year”?  I think Paul Findley nominated him. dear Phillies Fan:  what excuse do you have for the Card’s beating your team and star pitcher? no one needs to worry about the huge and growing federal debt or the huge and growing debts by such states as California and Illinois. Plans are already under way to inflate our way out of debt, a process accomplished by simply printing paper money and paying off debt with relatively worthless money.  The creditors, including those holding bonds, won’t like it, but what can they do about it?  The Republicans are passing laws that make it harder and harder for pro-Democratic voters to vote. This an assault on freedom that must be stopped. Look at the despots, the first thing they did was to take away the citizenship rights of the people. The Republicans favor the rich and now they want to put a teacher in Florida in jail for helping her students register to vote under their very restrictive anti-voter laws. if teachers cannot get young people to vote, then who will.  How do you cover up a problem? Simply say it doesn’t exist and then destroy the only tape that could prove a bus driver innocent or guilty. Mrs. Canty, you were unfair to both sides and it makes me feel that you are covering up a problem you do not want to deal with.  Because you have known it has existed all school year. you have lost all of your good drivers and now you are desperate to get any kind of driver. A-C board, she needs to go. All the grief that Ashland and Chandlerville gave Virginia about the football team and you guys only got one more win than they did. Look at Virden and Girard, big rivalry, they combined and they are already in the playoffs. Seems a bit suspicious that as soon as the OWS movement was getting high ratings from the public and had protested peacefully only getting arrested for minor violations for months now there’s this outbreak of random violence. Smells like the work of the Koch Brothers “teatard goons” that have infiltrated the movement because they just can’t stand that the country’s woke up to that ignorant tea party hype and are sick of their one-sided sucking up so they’re doing what they do best try to smear those you can’t beat fair and square. Watch carefully while your Repuke senators vote against the payroll tax cut for you idiots. They’ve already said they will vote for the payroll tax cuts for employers but, against the middle-class payroll tax cuts which means when they expire your taxes will be going up. Finally you’re getting what you voted for, a tax cut Repukes don’t like. Guess you’re just not rich enough. This Historical Committee in Jacksonville is for the birds.  if they are going to tell me what and how I can fix up a house, they can pay the taxes and the insurance. then it might be justified. Sarah Palin says OWS just wants a bailout with other people’s money, she’s the expert on bailing out with other people’s money. but all the OWS protesters want are jobs. there she goes trying to be relevant and failing badly again. Cain should have headed for the hills before all his dirty little secrets came out like Palin did before that juicy tell all book on her came out. neither one of them had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning anything but, at least she was smart enough not to embarrass herself. Congratulations Obama. The Occupy Wall Street/Death to Capitalism protest gains a toehold for your socialist viewpoint. The OWS movement is protesting those that crashed the economy and weren’t held accountable for the destruction of people’s lives they caused. above all they want Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, they want those banks we bailed out to bail out the economy by getting off those trillions in profits and investing it in this country by lending to small businesses here and bring the jobs they sent overseas back to this country and they want their elected officials to work on behalf of all Americans not just the ones that have given them the most money. That’s why people are frustrated and mad, why aren’t you? there are now 1 in 15 Americans living in poverty with more and more of them being the former middle class while the richest see a 275 percent increase in their income and lawmakers want to give them more and more to keep widening the gap that’s the class warfare OWS doesn’t want handouts or other people’s money they want a level playing field the same opportunities they used to get where they are. they just want to get back in the game and the best way to that is a job. Let’s all sing together “sleep in the park, poop in your pocket. Burn down the stores if they dare lock it.” Occupy the outhouse. The governors mansion is privately funded. if it were funded by the state it would have fell in years ago. if you want to enjoy $15-a-gallon gasoline, horrific violence throughout Muslim countries, and more terror launched against America, then urge Israel to keep preparing to attack Iran. I lived in the Triopia area and was a big Triopia fan. I went to all the games. I am very ashamed of the Triopia fans and the Jacksonville Journal-Courier. I think the paper needs to apologize to the Brown County Hornet team and their fans, then you should apologize to the Routt Rockets because you picked Triopia over your own home town team. Once again Triopia, be proud but be humble. Nobody likes a bragger.        Yes, let’s all ask our city and country governments, our churches and schools, and local businesses to make sustained efforts to buy products and services made in America. but you certainly knew before you voted for him that he was a community organizer, didn’t you?  what did you expect? what did the two A-C Central school officials see on the tape they reviewed that was so bad they wanted to hide it by erasing the tape? DCFS claims people who care for more than three children in their home including their own must be licensed. Once I needed help from Watson for a legitimate problem. he was not interested, didn’t understand or didn’t listen. I thought at this time he was quite ignorant and I haven’t changed my mind about him since. those Occupy Wall Street vagabonds really showed their true colors in Oakland. I wonder how much those deadbeat anarchists cost Oakland’s taxpayers. In Afghanistan they have the warlords, here we have the Congress — what’s the difference? Sheriff Duvendack this question is for you. why is it that the tow truck companies are on a call list but certain deputies only call one tow company? is that really fair? To the people who commented on “years ago” about their son being in trouble, wake up folks, this isn’t years ago. In today’s age, we know how our child’s behavior is at school every day, it’s sent home on a report.  The accusations about A-C Central’s driver and his monitor are interesting to read about, what’s even more interesting is that some of you think it’s the parent’s fault. So every kid on that bus that is scared or harassed by the adults on that bus just have one problem, the parents? Idiots. Union jobs are not a problem if non-union workers have an equal opportunity to get those jobs. Union leaders that forcibly collect dues for no other purpose than corrupting the political process are the problem. The A-C Central superintendent, bus driver and bus monitor are not to blame, its all Pat Quinn’s fault, or at least that’s their excuse. Geeeez. bottom line: if you’re gonna live in America, speak English language. if you complain about racism, go back home and even though the president hasn’t gave you all a pound of gold, realize he can’t fix the world in four years, it will take longer, and he can’t do it alone. Blame your state and local government for some of the mess as well like tax hikes. Just cause the elderly are among us doesn’t mean we have to treat them better then anyone else. they want respect, they have to give a little as does everyone else. you know, respect the neighbor rule. Obama’s so-called jobs bill is nothing but yet another bail out for teachers, policemen, and firemen. next year we the people must fire this progressive liberal from Chicago. It is bad enough that the economy and other measurable tangibles of society are having great problems, but it is even worse such intangibles as trust, confidence, hope, and other intangibles of society are taking severe hits. Without the latter, the former are of little value. if I were an ex-mayor in Mount Sterling, I would be embarrassed seeing my name published on the delinquent tax list year after year. Go Blueboys. if Jacksonville did not have the colleges, it would be the mirror image of Beardstown. Homeland Security (aka Big Brother) is watching you right here on the Open Line.
